Straight from the mouths of B and E

Every so often I like to record the cute and funny things the kids have been saying and doing lately.  So here are the latest and greatest from Miss B and Mr. E.

Conversation Between Bella and Grandma:
Grandma: "Bella, you left something here yesterday.  Do you know what it was?"
Bella: "Yeah, I think candy!"
(it was her stuffed animal zebra, but you've got to give the girl credit!)

Elijah's new word for yuck is 'guck'.  So he will go around finding garbage and yell, 'guck! guck!'

One night while visiting at Grandma and Grandpa's house, Bella decided to have ice cream instead of pie with everyone else.  Bella was sitting at the counter eating her ice cream while Grandma cut the pie into slices.  Bella piped up, saying, "Grandma, that looks delicious...and sweet!"  Needless to say, she got to try a slice of pie after all:)

Elijah is being weaned from his pacifier, which he hates.  He is only supposed to have it for nap time and bed time.  So when he wakes up in the morning, he has begun to hide his pacifier in different places so that I can't find it and take it away.  So far, he hasn't fooled me, but I'm afraid it's only a matter of time!

We have a bird feeder that the kids can watch from the back of the couch.  Bella gets so excited when she sees a bird, she gets mixed up and shouts, "There's a bird feeder at the bird feeder!"

Elijah's language is really exploding right now.  He says Momma and Dada, Bella, Ana, Grandpa (for Grandma and Grandpa), Jah-Jah (Elijah) uh huh, no, yes, eeeze (please), tanx (thanks), ot oh, bye, hi and various other words and phrases. It is so fun to hear his vocabulary grow!

Bella's newest made-up song includes the lyrics, "I say I don't know, I say I don't know!" Sung in rap style.  I don't know where she thought of it, but she can crack us all up when she does it.  It's now pretty much our family theme song!

Bella just started taking gymnastics, which she calls 'nastics'.  Both Bella and Elijah will show off their 'moves' when asked to.  These include spins, leg lifts, and sideways rolls.  Very entertaining stuff!

Auntie Brenda Comes to Visit

Matt's aunt Brenda (whom I refer to as my aunt as well-love you Auntie B!) came to visit us in MN for two weeks at the end of August and beginning of September!  We had such a wonderful time seeing her and watching her paint birdhouses (She's an amazing artist!).  We were pretty bummed that Matt was not in town to see her, but we took lots of pictures so he could see all of our adventures:)  Here are a few of my favs.

Here's to You, Summer!

August has come to an end. We are sad to see it go, but we are happy to have shared in all the joy that is Summer!

Here's to the August sun that lets us grow flowers and fresh vegetables. Here's to the pets we love and miss. Here's to the summer projects that keep us busy and to silly kids who keep us laughing. Here's to the friends who make us aprons, and to the delicious treats we bake with little helpers. Here's to boat rides on the lake and Grandpas who let us honk the horn. Here's to visits from family and new hula garb to dance in. Here's to you, Summer!
